The Daily Review
As a way of giving back to those who have so heroically served and protected us, all proceeds from the ticket sales for the Aug. 10 Oak Ridge Boys concert at Tioga Downs will be donated to the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group.
In addition, Chairman of American Racing and Entertainment Jeff Gural has decided he will now personally donate $10 to the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group for every ticket sold for the concert. So, for every ticket sold, $20 will be donated.
Tioga Downs will be continuing their successful annual Summer Concert Series with a concert by the chart-topping group Oak Ridge Boys. Renowned for such great hits as “Elvira”, “American Made” and “Bobbie Sue”, the Oak Ridge Boys will take to the stage on Friday, Aug. 10, outside and under the stars at Tioga Downs. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are available for $10 at the Tioga Downs Casino Gift Shop and all Ticketmaster locations.
“Once again, I look forward to our annual concert where all the ticket sales go to help our veterans here in the twin tiers,” said Gural. He continued, “The Oak Ridge Boys is one of my favorite groups, and in appreciation for all that the veterans in the country have done to keep us safe, I will personally donate $10 for every ticket sold.”
Last year’s Wynonna concert at Tioga Downs raised $40,870 through ticket sales, with Gural’s $5 match adding another $20,435 to the final amount that was then donated to the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group.
Tioga Downs would like to say thank you to our vets by holding a Veteran’s Appreciation Day on Aug. 11, featuring a special $6 buffet from 4 to 10 p.m. (veterans must have a Military ID and Player’s Club Card).
