Following Governor Cuomo’s announcement that selection of companies to develop gaming casinos in New York will move ahead as early as March, the executive vice president of Empire Resorts, Charles Degliomini, said they now have a “clear path and timing for the creation of resort destination casinos in upstate New York.”

Empire Resorts, which operates Monticello Casino and Raceway in Monticello, has plans to redevelop a portion of the Concord Hotel property into a resort, conference center, gaming casino in Kiamesha Lake.

“We are well positioned to create thousands of jobs and millions of dollars of economic opportunity as soon as possible in the Catskills and Mid-Hudson region of upstate New York, if we are granted a gaming license by the New York State Gaming Commission,” Degliomino said

Sullivan-Ulster is one of the areas selected for one, and possibly two, casinos.
