Gaming Association members generate $2.5 billion in economic activity
The nine casino and racinos represented by the New York Gaming Association generated $2.5 billion in economic activity last year, according to a new report from the organization.
Since the advent of electronic gambling in Saratoga Springs in 2004, the report found that the association’s members have generated more than $8.5 billion for education aid. There are now more than 17,000 video lottery terminals in New York, which generated more than $1.7 billion in gross revenue last year.

“The past year was marked by change, challenge and opportunity for both our members individually and our industry as a whole,” wrote association President Mike Kane in the report. “With the advent of new “commercial” casinos, the total “pie” of gaming dollars in New York grew in 2017, while NYGA expanded to add new members, including Rivers Casino & Resorts and Jake’s 58 Casino & Hotel (Resorts World Catskills is expected to join the Association in 2018).”
