Albany, NY — Nine racetrack casinos generated nearly $2 billion in economic output, according to a study released Thursday by the New York Gaming Association.

The economic impact analysis by New York firm Appleseed found the racetrack casinos directly or indirectly supported 17,400 jobs in the state.

Among the nine racetrack casinos are Vernon Downs Casino and Hotel and Finger Lakes Casino and Racetrack. According to the study, the racetrack casinos created 5,431 direct jobs, contributed $1.06 billion in state revenues and a total of $1.96 billion in economic output.
