Aqueduct has pulled off an eclipse of Mohegan Sun.
The racino at Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens surpassed Mohegan Sun as the top slot-machine revenue generator in the nation in May, pulling in $57.5 million, compared with the Indian-run Connecticut casino’s $55.4 million, the racino’s operators announced yesterday.
And just seven months after opening, the gambling parlor at Aqueduct generated more than $40 million in tax revenue for New York state.
That’s more than the Las Vegas Strip’s 41 casinos netted for Nevada (about $30 million), Atlantic City’s 12 casinos pulled in for New Jersey ($18.3 million), and Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods bagged for Connecticut ($28 million), Aqueduct Resorts World Casino NYC declared.
