Independent Study Says Constitutional Amendment Would Spur State Economy
This from the New York Gaming Association: If a constitutional amendment were passed to allow for live table games at tracks, it would generate more than $3.3 billion in economic output, which includes wages, salaries and the purchase of goods and services for New York State and create more than 17,000 construction-related jobs.
That would all be due to major investments by the nine tracks that make up the NYGA. In its press release, the NYGA said “when the planned expansion is completed, enhanced gaming would increase the State’s annual economic output by $976 million, and generate an additional 8,200 jobs statewide.”
