On Veterans Day, November 11, 2013 Resorts World Casino New York City hosted a Veterans Day ceremony, with special guests Lt. Col. Clayton F. Lawrence and Audley Coulthurst of the Tuskegee Airmen. In attendance were veterans from across the borough, as well as several local elected officials including State Senators Joe Addabbo and JamesSanders, Assemblymember Mike Miller and William Scarborough, and Community Board 10 Chair Betty Bratton.

“Resorts World Casino is extremely proud to join with our community leaders to honor those who protect our country. This year we are proud to honor the legendary Tuskegee Airmen,” said Edward Farrell, Resorts World Casino New York City President. “The men and women who serve our country deserve our gratitude each and every day, and Veterans Day is a particularly good opportunity to recognize their sacrifice.”

Following the remarks by the elected officials, Resorts World Casino invited one of their many military veteran employees, Sean McCabe, to address the crowd. Mr. McCabe spoke on the many challenges that veterans face upon returning home, and expressed his appreciation for the promising opportunities available to him at Resorts World Casino New York City.

In a touching closure to the ceremony, NYC–based singer and actress Ida Anselona performed the national anthem while each veteran participant was presented with an American flag.
