Capital Business Blog At Monday’s County Legislature meeting Steuben County was presented a first quarter earning check from WROTB in the amount of $19,038.00, Director John Clifford said “Business has been on a very steady rise at Batavia Downs Casino with record breaking weeks of revenue, Steuben County is fortunate to be invested in WROTB and Batavia Downs with a bright future that casino gaming has in New York State”.
We are pleased that member Counties including Genesee , Wyoming, Livingston, Oswego, Wayne and Orleans Counties have recently adopted resolutions supporting Batavia Downs to be authorized for full casino gaming and now Steuben County has joined them as the 7th County to adopt the resolution. The Counties which own Batavia Downs Recognize the important dialogue that needs to take place in the next year concerning Casino Gaming and the inclusion of Batavia Downs as a full Casino venue.

We are encouraged by the growing and overwhelming support of Western and Central New York Counties and the importance of Batavia Downs Casino to the local municipalities and State Education.” The Counties are and have recognized that as the only municipally owned Casino in New York State the revenues not only help State Education but also help local property tax relief for the 17 municipalities that own Batavia Downs.
