Times Herald-Record –
Empire Resorts, which is building the $1.3 billion Montreign Resort Casino at Adelaar in Sullivan County, has installed a time-lapse camera at the construction site to document and broadcast the transition from construction site to casino.
Empire received a casino license from the state in December but construction began more than a year ago when the Montreign project was picked by the gaming commission from among nine applicants in the mid-Hudson region. The Town of Thompson site has been cleared, roads have been cut in, water and sewer lines have been laid, and groundwork for the actual construction has begun.
Once complete – Empire is estimating it will be early 2018 – the project will include an 18-story casino, an entertainment village with food and shopping, an updated Monster golf course, a water park, and a nature trail.
“We want everyone who’s been supportive of our efforts to revitalize Sullivan County and the Catskills to see the progress anytime they want, with just a simple click of a mouse button,” said Charles Degliomini, executive vice president of Empire.
